Based on the recommendation of a friend who has used sk II products for years and who have tried all top brands, I decided to give SK II a try. I've used most of the major brands myself. Didn't like La Mer (too rich, and need to warm up the cream in hand, no visible improvements to skin). I got the Essence, SK II cellumination cream and Signs Eye cream to start with, and did a comparison between these and Shiseido products that I was using daily.My daily care procedure: 1. wash w/ Shiseido Benefiance cleansing foam 2. tone w/ Shiseido Balancing Softener 3. apply eye cream and face cream During the 1st wk. 1. on my left face and forehead: SK II Essence and creams 2. on my right face: Shiseido Bioperformance Advanced Super Revitalizer and Shisedio Benefiance Concentrated Anti-wrinkle eye cream And then 2nd wk, I reversed the side. I bought a bottle of SK II Facial Treatment Essence as an experiment, as I've been on a facial cream testing spree. My skin is adjusting from it's teenage oily phase to a more adult dry/combination phase and so I've dropped all the acne products and started with products like this.To my delight, it worked perfectly. I'm only on my first bottle--- I've been using it every night since March, and at the moment it's still half full. My skin has smoothed out, uneven spots and mild acne scars have lightened to the point where they are barely visible, and my pores are noticeably smaller. I've since then received many compliments on my skin, even once during grocery shopping without any makeup on my face at all. A little while ago I tried patting some on to my stretch marks as well, on my shoulders and on my stomach. A month of continuous use later, even my stretch marks were less visible.
